Since its first publication in 1945, Lord Russell’s A History of Western Philosophy has been universally acclaimed as the outstanding one-volume work on the subject.
We were asked to redesign the cover of this paperback edition which had existed since the seventies.The dyptic on the front and back cover is by photographer jason Fulford. There are instances where an image leads directly to a solution. This is a perfect example of this. The images are allowed to do their thing as the copy, which would ussually appear on the back cover, is crammed onto the spine.
